Realization of eco-friendly Green Rail

The core philosophy and principle of Korail lie in the fulfillment of its corporate social responsibilities and the pursuit of the green management. Korail will make an effort internally to strengthen pollution prevention system and to improve its corporate-wide environmental activities. It will also create its new advanced environmental values by actively responding to global issues related to our planet’s environment and climate change. Korail will do its best to provide its customers with a pleasant and clean environment.

 

Korail’s guidelines of environmental policies are as follows:

First, Korail puts its best endeavor to enhance corporate-wide environmental management to minimize pollutant emissions.

·         Tightening regulations on pollutant emissions and promoting resource recycling

 

·         Risk management through prevention measures

Second, Korail makes efforts to improve environmental friendliness of the transportation industry by establishing an environmental management system

·         Using Eco Products to contribute to creating social and environmental benefits

·         Using carbon reduction label certification to strengthen the promotion of the use of green transportation

·         Promoting employee trainings on environment to increase Korail’s credibility on the environment matters, thus enhancing its corporate image  

Third, Korail makes every endeavor to assume environmental obligations in accordance with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

·         Actively participating in national and international activities related to international trends and climate change issues

·         Continuously developing technologies to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions

·         Strengthening Korail’s corporate competitiveness by pursuing Greenrail system  

Fourth, Korail strives to fulfil its corporate social responsibilities by actively participating in environmental protection activities

·         Boosting its corporate credibility on the environment matters by strengthening environmental communication with NGOs and local governments

·         Continuously organizing a series of events, including environmental preservation activities in local communities

Let’s Use Eco Products!

- Keeping the environment in mind and mitigating environmental burdens, Korail makes environmentally preferable purchasing throughout the whole process, from the implementation of environmental norms to the product manufacturing, its distribution, use and disposal. Every year, Korail monitors purchasing records and planning of eco-friendly products based on statistical analysis. Korail also encourages relevant departments to organize trainings and to purchase more green products. 20150918
